As many of you here in Colorado have seen, Painted lady butterflies have been everywhere this year. Here are a few photographs of them I shot this afternoon – I hope they brighten your day!
Here are 3 architectural photographs from a shoot last night of The new Goddard School here in the Highlands, Denver. I am continuously amazed by what is now possible when using a drone for aerial photography.
Architects, Developers, Builders; do you want your project captured in a photograph like this? Give me a ring, we’ll make it happen!
I’m just back from another aerial photo shoot using my drone at a construction site here in the Denver area. Today I spent a little time making visually interesting photographs that I and (hopefully) other photographer / artist folks will enjoy. First, of course, I captured the photographs the client needed, then time to be creative.
I was finally able to photograph Annie at The Denver Puppet Theater the other day. She is always amazingly busy, I found. That makes sense because Annie is not only a wonderful puppeteer putting on a variety of fantastic shows. She also creates all of the puppets, is a kind human being and provides a wonderful service to all of the children who attend. I believe that her method of helping people think creatively and open their mind is treasure to all those who attend.
Congratulations to Linsdey and Josh! Their wedding was beautiful and I’m honored they selected me to photograph such an important day for them. They were married this August in the Denver Botanic Gardens and the reception followed at The Magnolia Hotel here in Denver, Colorado.
As you may know, I am accepting 5 weddings a year to photograph. My background is in photojournalism and I continue to work regularly as a documentary, editorial photographer. So, I approach each wedding as an authentic wedding photojournalist, all the while understanding and appreciating the importance of capturing beautiful portraits of the couple and their family.
Below are my 6 favorite black and white photographs from the day. Yep, I used a camera set to capture in black and white. I also used traditional high-end digital cameras and even created a few portraits using medium format film.
If you are interested in having me photograph your wedding here in Colorado or abroad, don’t hesitate to give me a call or email. I’d love to chat and see if we’d make a good fit!
I’m eager to begin sharing my Urban Garden project with the world. I’m posting selected photographs to a new, dedicated Instagram account @matthewstaver in banner format. Here is the first photo posted, others will appear as I can post them. For more information, or if you have a unique urban vegetable garden in the Denver area that might make a good fit for the project send me an email! – mattstaver(at)hotmail.com
I’m pleased to share this new gallery of construction related photography at my online portfolio: http://www.matthewstaver.com/#/construction/
This is a gallery showcasing some of my recent photography work for construction, developer, hotel and contractor clients. If you are a construction company with projects in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs or even into Wyoming, North Dakota or beyond that you wish to document or highlight, take a look. Yep, I own a pair of broken in steel-toe boots, hard hat and other PPE. I understand construction timelines and don’t mind taking off those boots when the project if finished and we head inside to photograph the finished interiors.
Here is a new environmental portrait I created while on assignment recently in Boulder, CO.
Many thanks to the editors at Fokus, Sweden’s weekly news magazine, for this amazing display of my photographs created recently on assignment for them. I spent 2 days documenting the business of cannabis here in Colorado.
